This intriguing explorations workshop is exclusive to the Irving Arts Center. An excellent learning experience for all skill levels! In this intensive materials workshop, participants will creatively explore a new, revolutionary felt-like fabric Fosshape® that can be magically transformed from soft and flat to hard and dimensional when heat is applied.
Using steamers and heat guns, students will learn how to mold and manipulate this material into sculptural forms that can become art pieces, vessels, hats or costumes, in just about any shape that can be imagined! Innovative dyeing techniques will be used to paint on the pieces before and after completion to create stunning, permanent effects.
Throughout 2015 Nicola is facilitating a series of felting and eco- printing workshops in North America, Europe and Australia, and we are lucky enough to get her teach here in Austin, through Austin Fiber Artists. [Read more…]

We’ll also do a walk-through on how to take an idea from iPad to Spoonflower, on the iPad and/or your laptop. App list sent ahead of time.
