Here is a review of the book:
ByAnita W.on July 29, 2017
Readers who have enjoyed Susan Mayfield’s luscious illustrations for children’s books will not be disappointed by this beautiful collection of her artwork and writing. The extraordinary variety of color and texture in the artwork makes this book feel like a good mystery novel (I felt compelled to keep turning the pages to see what surprises were in store for me!), while the meditative writing also makes it a perfect choice to keep on my bedside table to begin or end the day. Some of the haikus calmed me, while others sharpened my perceptions with their startlingly original observations about ordinary things. Many of the haikus have a message of quiet encouragement to those who are seeking courage to embrace change, take a new path, or see something in a new light. While I want to share this book with all my friends, it will be an especially good gift for someone facing a transition or entering a new phase of life.
