Lisa Kerpoe for San Antonio Pets Alive
San Antonio Pets Alive was established in 2012 to partner with San Antonio Animal Care Services to reduce the number of adoptable animals euthanized in San Antonio. The organization is dedicated to finding no-kill solutions to the city’s Animal overpopulation issues. SAPA also worked with rescues affected by hurricane Harvey, to pull animals out of danger and find them homes. Many of the hurricane Harvey Animals were sent to rescue partners out of state as part of SAPA’S transport program. Lisa, transport coordinator for SAPA, will discuss some of the success stories and challenges faced as a result of Hurricane Harvey.
Malinda Red Cloud for Therapy Animals of San Antonio
Malinda says, “Therapy Animals of San Antonio is an all volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Our mission since 1989 has been bringing people and animals together for healing. We do this with our therapy teams’ visits to facilities, educational presentations, and StoryTails literacy program in the greater San Antonio area. We provide training and support for therapy teams, who may choose to become registered with Therapy Animals of San Antonio or Pet Partners, Inc.Our primary fundraiser for the year is the Fiesta® Pooch Parade, an official Fiesta® San Antonio event. All proceeds from the parade support our local programs. We invite you to join our organization (with or without an animal), become a therapy team, and/or support us with a donation or as a sponsor of the Fiesta® Pooch Parade.”
But wait – there’s more! You’ll have an opportunity to donate to each of these groups, and our own program chairperson, Kate Martin, will match every dollar donated up to $150.00! If you need a nudge to donate, click on the link below:
