Overall, the piece is a mixed media with fiber art as the focal point. Sabra Silk resist and silk painting techniques on Habutai were used for the focal point. The silk was cut and laid on a birch ply wood board in a way that abstractly emulates the act of pouring. At the dark center of the silk piece, Loctite glue was used to create not only a dark stain on the fabric, but a hardness and shine for the rough texture of its core. Fray Block keeps the edges of the silk from fraying. The background on the ply wood was created using acrylic and water with a round brush and a flat 1 inch brush. Loctite and wood glue were both used to mount the silk piece onto the wood.
